Paper Restoration and Facsimile Reproductions
Although we do not do leaf casting we do perform a large range of paper repairs and restoration.
We also produce facsimile reporductions of missing pages if you have a volume that is incomplete. This is always contingent on the availability of an original image.

Map restoration before & after:
The map was carefully pressed and all tears and splits were repaired with a Japanese mending tissue from the rear and any areas of paper loss were repaired with similar vintage paper. Note that the dark areas on the left side of the before image were shadows or an odd lighting effect, the paper was not that brown.

Broken slipcases can be reassembled and missing parts can be replaced. If it is a paper covered case, we will use a similar paper from our collection of vintage papers or make a facsimile from the existing parts to cover what is missing. If it is a cloth covered case, we will use the closest color and texture of cloth that we have available that will match the original.
